Jubilee of Governments: Drinks with the Christians in Government Catholic Group
Since 2021, the Christians in Government Catholic Group has been dedicated to the promotion of the principles of Catholic Social Teaching within the Civil Service.
To celebrate the growth of this group and mark the Jubilee of Governments (20-22 June) weekend we warmly invite you to a drink’s reception on Thursday 19th June at the Windsor Castle pub. This event is in close collaboration with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales (CBCEW) and will be addressed by Philip Booth, the CBCEW’s Head of Policy. In the light of recent global technological shifts and state streamlining efforts, the talk will explore the telos – the role – of a Civil Service, drawing on Catholic Social Teaching. What should the public expect from a Civil Service, and how can Christian Civil Servants live up to those expectations?
The invitation is extended to all Civil Servants, regardless of religious affiliation, as well as members of the wider Catholic community, as we come together both to celebrate our achievements so far and look ahead to the future of bringing Faith and Life together in service to the Government of the United Kingdom.
Please register your place using the form below to help us with administration for the event. We are not asking for your name or contact details, just an indication you can attend.
